LOS ANGELES — Kedon Slovis threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns to lead Southern Cal to a 41-14 victory Saturday over Arizona at the LA Memorial Coliseum.
Slovis threw two touchdown passes to Michael Pittman Jr. and Tyler Vaughns. Markese Stepp scored with a 12-yard run. Kenan Christon, also a track star, rushed for eight carries and two touchdowns.
This game marked homecoming for USC and is the seventh straight win for the Trojans (4-3, 3-1 PAC-12) over the Wildcats (4-3, 2-2).
USC took an early lead in the first quarter when Chase McGrath kicked a 31-yard field goal, and Michael Pittman Jr. caught a 9-yard pass from Slovis to score a touchdown. By the half, Markese Stepp had a running touchdown to bring the score to 17-0. In the third, McGrath kicked another field goal, and Tyler Vaughns caught a 5-yard pass from Slovis. In the final quarter, Brian Casteel caught two passes from Grant Gunnell to bring Arizona onto the board, but Kenan Christon scored twice for USC, leaving the final score at 41-14.
Grant Gunnell threw for 196 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Brian Casteel had four receptions for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
Next week, USC faces Boulder in Colorado. Arizona returns to California to play Stanford.
